Milan’s visit to Arsenal in midweek taught the Rossoneri one important lesson – the need for their own stadium.

That is according to Barbara Berlusconi, the daughter of Milan chief Silvio and a member of the club’s board.

“We suffered a lot against Arsenal,” she told the Gazzetta dello Sport after the 3-0 loss. “However, the Emirates Stadium has an air of magic about it.

“In 2015, San Siro will have some new facilities installed, but the fans don’t feel pampered there. We need our own arena.”

Milan, who beat the Premiership club 4-3 on aggregate in the Champions League, share the council-owned Stadio Meazza with Inter.

Juventus are the only top-flight club in Italy who own their own stadium after they rebuilt the old Stadio Delle Alpi.
