Milan have reportedly offered €19m for Tijjani Reijnders including bonuses, but AZ Alkmaar want a guaranteed sum to sell the midfielder.

He is the top of coach Stefano Pioli’s list as a replacement for Sandro Tonali, who made the €80m move to Newcastle United this week.

According to Sportitalia and Calciomercato.com, the proposal put forward is close to the €20m asking price for Reijnders.

However, that figure includes various add-ons and performance-related bonuses, whereas AZ Alkmaar want greater guarantees of the full sum before agreeing to a transfer.

They are not too far from reaching an agreement, reportedly only circa €2m divide the two clubs and their positions.

Reijnders turns 25 later this month and plays in central midfield.

He contributed seven goals and 12 assists in 54 competitive games for AZ Alkmaar in the most recent campaign.

Although Milan met with Sassuolo today, Davide Frattesi was never the priority, as Pioli had requested Reijnders.
