Milan mourn the premature death of Academy coach Patrizio Billio, a former midfielder for Monza, Verona and Crystal Palace.

According to Gazzetta, Billio, 48, had a stroke while playing a padel game on Monday.

He was working for the club as an Academy coach in Kuwait and had been a technical director for the Rosoneri in the past.

A product of Milan academy, the former midfielder joined Montebelluna in 1993 and although he never played in Serie A, he managed three Premier League appearances as a footballer, playing for Crystal Palace in 1997-98.

He played for several clubs across Serie B and Serie C in Italy, including Monza, Livorno, Ternana, Ravenna and Ancona and for Dundee FC and Aberdeen FC in Scotland.

Milan mourned his death on social media. “All the Rossoneri family express sympathy for the family’s grief. Rest in peace, Patrizio.”
