Current Rossoneri boss Sinisa Mihajlovic's future is in doubt, with reports suggesting he will be fired at the end of the season.
Gazzetta dello Sport reports today that contact has been made between Milan and Sassuolo in the last few days about a possible move.
The contact reportedly took place after Di Francesco said he ‘goes where there’s no confusion’ and Rossoneri President Silvio Berlusconi stated the Neroverdi boss ‘wouldn’t be right’ for the job.
The newspaper believes the San Siro outfit want to take some time to evaluate the situation but could be forced to make a move as Sassuolo have no intention of hanging around.
The Neroverdi want to know Di Francesco’s future as soon as possible and have called him to a summit where he could be offered a contract renewal, says the report.
Therefore Milan will have to make a move soon if they are to target the former Roma midfielder, who is believed to be Arrigo Sacchi’s Coach of choice.
