Milan will be without Junior Messias for up to a month after he limped off against Tottenham Hotspur with a thigh injury.

The Brazilian had started the match at the Tottenham Stadium in London before hobbling off in the second half.

He has now been diagnosed with a lesion to the femoral bicep in his right thigh.

More tests are scheduled in circa 10 days’ time, but Sky Sport Italia report there are concerns he will be out of action for the best part of a month.

Messias has made 26 competitive appearances for the Rossoneri so far this season, scoring a more than creditable five goals and providing two assists.

He has gained more playing time recently as a wide midfielder following the switch to a 3-5-2 or 3-4-2-1 formation.

The 31-year-old had an unusual career path, continuing to work delivering fridge freezers while playing for various semi-pro clubs until finding fame in Serie A with Crotone.
