Sulley Muntari thinks the Milan squad is big enough to deal with the current injury crisis at San Siro.

Sulley Muntari thinks the Milan squad is big enough to deal with the current injury crisis at San Siro.

The Diavolo beat Celtic 2-0 last night, but boss Massimiliano Allegri was without the likes of Kaka, Riccardo Montolivo, Stephan El Shaarawy, Giampaolo Pazzini, Ignazio Abate, Mattia De Sciglio, Daniele Bonera and Matias Silvestre.

“We’re fine about the injury situation,” the midfielder, who scored in the Champions League tie, commented.

“The players who aren’t injured are managing well and some of the others are coming back to training already.

“Andrea Poli today and Riccardo Saponara, M’Baye Niang and Abate tomorrow. We’ll just have to work even harder until the others come back. We’re a good squad.”

After beating Celtic on Wednesday, Muntari has switched his attention to the club’s future fixtures at home and abroad.

“They were three big points against Celtic, but it’s only the start. Now we have the match with Ajax and then we’ll be up against Barcelona.

Napoli at the weekend? We know they are a tough team to face and they spent a lot in the summer, but we always have to aim to win regardless of the opponents.”

Milan are not only struggling with a lack of options, but their strikers are finding it tough to find the back of the net.

Mario Balotelli has three goals so far this season, while Robinho has one.

“The goals will come for the forwards,” added Muntari who also netted against Torino at the weekend. “For the moment, we midfielders will look after things.

“Alessandro Matri and Balotelli have always scored goals and they’ll continue to do so. When Kaka links up with them, we’ll have some fun.”
