Milan are believed to be interested in Zenit St Petersburg’s Leandro Paredes, but they need the Russian side to lower their asking price.

The Rossoneri have lost Lucas Biglia to a long-term injury, and are looking for someone to replace him both immediately and long-term.

According to SportMediaset, there is already a rough agreement with Paredes, but Zenit are asking for €25-30m to sell him.

With Financial Fair Play sanctions incoming, the Diavolo cannot afford to pay that up-front.

As a result, Leonardo is trying to convince Zenit to accept a loan with obligation to buy, which would split the cost over two financial years.

The alternative is Denis Suarez of Barcelona, who could be allowed to leave Camp Nou on loan in January.
