The 19-year-old was brought in from Genoa on co-ownership last summer and impressed in his first season with the Rossoneri, managing 28 appearances in all competitions and four goals scored.
However, despite only taking full ownership of the player last week, Milan have admitted through sporting director Braida that where they currently intend to keep him at the club, they may change their mind and loan him out, with Torino named as an interested party.
“At this time, El Shaarawy is not moving from Milan. Again, to avoid any misunderstandings – for the moment the situation is like this,” Braida first told itasportpress.it on Monday.
“However, anything is possible in football, more so considering the fact that the transfer market has yet to officially open and will also be particularly long.
“Would we send El Shaarawy to Torino? If at the end of market we decide to move the boy out, who no doubt has talent, there would be no problem in sending him out to Torino.
“[President Urbano] Cairo is also a friend, so there would be no problem at all.
“Today, El Shaarawy plays for Milan, but tomorrow the situation could change.”
