Milan are reportedly close to completing a deal with Caen for their young French striker M’baye Niang.

The 17-year-old has been linked this summer with a move to the Italian Serie A runners-up, as they look to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic in attack.

Capped to Under-21 level by France, Niang, who is described as similar in characteristics to Thierry Henry, recently admitted to having visited the Rossoneri’s training facilities at Milanello.

Subsequently, reports this morning suggest that Milan and Ligue 2 outfit Caen are close to an agreement for the player.

It is believed that Il Diavolo do not value the player at the €5m-asking price Caen have set, and are instead offering an initial loan deal for the forward, with an option then inserted to make the switch permanent over the next year.

There is rumoured to be competition still in the market for Niang, with English sides Manchester City and Arsenal both said to be tracking the youngster too, with the Gunners having reportedly already had him train with them before.

Meanwhile, the Gazzetta dello Sport are running the line that the Rossoneri will certainly capture full-back Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa from Montpellier, either through a transfer agreement this summer, or on a free next summer when his contract expires.
