According to reports, Salernitana and Mexico international goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa could remain in Serie A next season for Milan or Inter.

The shot-stopper turns 38 in July and joined Salernitana as a free agent in January after impressing for his country in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

He made numerous saves in his six Serie A appearances, despite also conceding 17 goals, but was dropped to the bench when Luigi Sepe recovered from injury.

Now there are suggestions Ochoa’s willingness to work as an understudy to the main goalkeeper has made him an attractive prospect for San Siro giants Milan and Inter.

The Rossoneri have struggled during the five months in which Mike Maignan has been out of action, with Ciprian Tatarusanu lacking international experience and confidence.

As for Inter, Samir Handanovic lost his place to Andre Onana and could potentially retire at the end of this season.

Ochoa has 135 senior caps for Mexico and at club level has represented Club America, Ajaccio, Malaga, Granada, Standard Liege and Salernitana.
