Milan and Barcelona fans seem to have lost patience with contract rebels Franck Kessié and Ousmane Dembélé, who were both booed during the last home games of the Rossoneri and the Catalans.

The Rossoneri fans at San Siro booed the Ivory Coast international in the last two games in Coppa Italia (against Lazio) and Serie A (against Sampdoria). During the last league fixture, the Rossoneri ultras also unveiled a banner aimed at Kessié: “Those who love Milan show it with facts, cordial goodbyes to those who are dissatisfied,” the banner read.

The 25-year-old has failed to reach an agreement over a contract extension with the Serie A giants and will likely walk out of the club when his deal runs out in the summer.

Barcelona face the same issue ahead of their Europa League fixture with Napoli. Club directors had threatened to leave Ousmane Dembélé out of the squad until the end of the season had he refused to sign a contract extension or leave the club in January. Nevertheless, the France winger remained at Barcelona in the winter transfer window and is expected to leave as a free agent at the end of the season.

However, Xavi and the club decided to reintroduce him to the team for the second part of the campaign. Dembélé didn’t play against Atletico Madrid in the last home game at the Nou Camp, but fans booed when his name was announced before kick-off.

Dembélé should not start against Napoli tonight but must expect another hostile welcome from his fans, especially in case he is introduced in the second half.
