Today is a very special date for the Granata, as it marks the 110th anniversary of the club’s foundation.

“I am proud to the Coach of Torino on this day. Tomorrow we will do everything we can to honour this landmark,” said Mihajlovic in his Press conference.

“We won the last three games despite not actually playing well. If we think that we can make it four in a row with Samp playing like that, then we will certainly get beaten.

“Samp have a lot of quality and a passionate atmosphere in their stadium, so we need the best Toro and to play good football.”

Miha knows the Marassi atmosphere well, having been the Sampdoria Coach from November 2013 to June 2015 as well as a player there.

“I think I did well at Sampdoria and left good memories of my time there. All I can do now is return as President, but maybe Massimo Ferrero wouldn’t agree!

“Ferrero is similar to (Torino President Urbano) Cairo in that both let a Coach get on with his work and are good at taking the tension out of a situation.

“I believe I’ll be given a warm welcome tomorrow, as I am very fond of Samp. If they jeer me, then that’s not a problem. I’d rather they jeer me than my players.

“The next month is going to be very important for European qualification, as there are many head-to-head fixtures coming up. We have to take it one game at a time and always play to win.

“We still need to improve in every area: mentality, attitude and fitness levels. Many sides go through this difficulty away from home on their way to becoming a great team.

“I’ll be honest, I don’t understand players who do better at home. I loved playing away games.”
