The Rossoneri are currently eight points behind League leaders and city rivals Inter, but the Coach sees a balanced League this season.

“It’s one of the most balanced Leagues in recent years,” Mihajlovic mused in his Press conference ahead of the visit of Bologna.

“Anyone can beat anyone, it’s a more entertaining League. Our goal is also to play with Italian players, it’s one of our objectives.

“At Frosinone we finished the game with 8 out of 11 players being Italian and an average age of 25. That’s not emphasised enough.

“We’re laying the foundations for a better future, we’re one of the few big teams who plays with a lot of Italians.”

Kevin-Prince Boateng’s return to the club was confirmed yesterday, with the Ghanaian signing a six-month contract, but he’s unlikely to start tomorrow.

“I don’t think he’ll be on the pitch from the first minute. We have everyone available apart from [Alessio] Romagnoli who is suspended, and Mario [Balotelli] and Jeremy [Menez].

“If we need him, then we’ll see.

“Balotelli? He’s fine, but he’s not in top physical condition because he was out with a fever. He’ll be ready in mid-to-late January.

“Menez has started preparation too, because he’s not played since April. It takes time to get back into condition, and we’ll see how he responds.

“He’s begun working with the ball.”

Finally, the Coach discussed tomorrow’s opponents.

“They’re in form,” Mihajlovic warned.

“We have to be very careful on dead balls. [Franco] Brienza was injured, so I don’t know who will play.

“Then there’s [Mattia] Destro, so we hope the rule about ex-players scoring against you doesn’t come to pass.

“We mustn’t underestimate them, and we’ll have to defend really well. We can’t afford to have the wrong attitude.

“We can win against anyone, as long as we don’t feel superior to anyone.”
