Sinisa Mihajlovic has been discharged from the Sant’Orsola Hospital in Bologna following a round of leukaemia treatment.

The Serbian coach was first diagnosed with leukaemia in the summer of 2019 and he quickly made a shock announcement to the press, not hiding his condition. His pre-season training work was carried out by his staff whilst he watched on through a video call and he later returned to the sidelines.

Mihajlovic started to return to health following a bone marrow transplant in October 2019 and things were looking good, but he unfortunately suffered a relapse earlier this year, forcing him to undergo further treatment.

Bologna announced today that Mihajlovic was discharged the Sant’Orsola Hospital in a good condition, allowing the players and fans to breath a sigh of relief.

It’s likely that the Serbian coach will now be able to return to the sidelines for at least one of Bologna’s remaining matches. They’ll face Venezia on May 8.
