Sampdoria chief Massimo Ferrero believes that Sinisa Mihajlovic would be a good Italy Coach, but wants him to stay for another decade.

The Serbian tactician had been linked with Inter this summer, but looks set to remain with the Bluerchiati after guiding them to 12th in the table last time out.

And his boss at the Marassi has claimed that the 45-year-old would be a good replacement for Cesare Prandelli.

“Mancini and Conte are both big names,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “I think Mihajlovic would be good.

“But I don’t want to get rid of him. In fact, I want him to sign on for the next 10 years.”

Ferrero then commented on the race for the FIGC presidency.

“I have heard many rumours. Albertini then Tavecchio [were both favourites at one time].

“I’m just hoping for better for the game, and to be able to bring more people into the stadiums.

“We want more families to be able to come to the game. Football is entertainment – 22 lads on a pitch giving their all.

“It should be a given that you can go the stadium without seeing violence.”
