Former player and assistant manager to Roberto Mancini, Mihajlovic has been repeatedly linked with the Nerazzurri bench for next season.

“Who wouldn’t want to coach Inter? However, I have respect for my colleagues and will only talk about my bench,” said the Serbian tactician in his Press conference.

“Inter are like a family for me, as I owe a great deal to Moratti and the club in general. He was passionate, an example to all and what he achieved will go down in history. Now he has left and it’s only right that the new patron sets out his vision.”

Mihajlovic tried to focus on the game at hand and the fact Sampdoria are four points clear of Inter.

“Just getting to play this match in these circumstances is satisfying. We are 10 points and 13 places better off than at this stage last season, we are unbeaten and stopped Roma. All of this is a success, but we must also keep our feet on the ground.

“Tomorrow we can cause an upset for Erick Thohir. I will rotate the squad a little, as there will be changes both tomorrow and in the next game against Fiorentina.

“Inter are a very strong side and they tend to get better as the campaign goes on. We were unlucky last season and hope to stay with all XI men on the field this time.”

Mihajlovic was also asked about controversial Sampdoria President Massimo Ferrero, who made a racist gaffe this week about Inter patron Thohir.

“You must know him by now. The President should be listened to and not commented on.”
