Sinisa Mihajlovic warned he would like to stay at Milan next season, “but it doesn’t depend only on me.”

The Coach met with President Silvio Berlusconi yesterday for around 20 minutes and later told a fan he didn’t know if he would remain on the bench.

“I am sad that after the defeat to Sassuolo we have started the usual debate over my future again,” Mihajlovic told Milan Channel this morning.

“It’s never healthy to fly from one extreme to the other, but I am accustomed to it. Like all Coaches, I will be judged at the end of the season.

“I would like to remain and if it only depended on me then I’d certainly confirm my status, but it doesn’t depend only on me. I can only be concentrated on the next games.

“The meeting with Berlusconi was relaxed in a situation without any sort of problem.”

The players have come out repeatedly to back Mihajlovic and say they want him to stay on next season.

“I always had a good rapport with the squad and said to their faces what I thought. I always showed respect and expected it in return.

“I am pleased by the comments of my players, but I’ve never been worried about that because I believe in my work.

“I am the first to be angry if we lose, but our tournament isn’t over. Sixth place isn’t enough for me or the team. There is the chance to climb back up, but we’ve got to start playing the way we know how.”
