Alex Meret had surgery on a fractured arm today and the Napoli goalkeeper “should be back on the field in four to six weeks.”
The unlucky shot-stopper had just completed his transfer from Udinese when he was hurt in a training ground collision yesterday.
X-Rays showed the fracture of the middle third of the ulna in his left arm.
He had an operation today, in which a metal plate was applied to speed up the recovery time, then a mid-sized cast was applied.

“The lad is calm, confident. He showed no uncertainty,” Doctor Domenico Falco told CalcioNapoli24.
“The fact it is a composite fracture is a good sign for the recovery time. Tomorrow he will start training for his torso and legs.
“It’ll take about a month, month and a half before we see him on the pitch again. I think straight after the first break for international duty.
“If there are no complications, he’ll miss the first two rounds of the Serie A season.”
