Milan winger Suso’s agent reportedly met Chelsea this week to discuss a potential €40m transfer.

The Spain international and former Liverpool player had already been heavily linked with Napoli when Maurizio Sarri was in charge.

Now that Sarri’s appointment at Stamford Bridge seems imminent, replacing Antonio Conte, it makes sense for Suso to be a target there too.

He also represents Chelsea full-back Davide Zappacosta, but a Suso move does make a great deal of sense.

Milan were excluded from Europe due to Financial Fair Play violations and have just been taken over by hedge fund Elliott Management after Yonghong Li defaulted on his debts.

If they are to sell players in order to improve their financial standing, Suso is the ideal candidate, because he’ll command €40m and cost only €1.3m to get from Liverpool in January 2015.
