Napoli are reportedly on the verge of closing a deal for Udinese goalkeepers Orestis Karnezis and Alex Meret.

The Partenopei need a new man between the posts, and Pepe Reina will join Milan on Sunday, with his contract in Naples expiring on Saturday.

Meret has been identified as the ideal long-term replacement, but the club wants a more experienced man to guide the Italian Under-21 international.

According to today’s Gazzetta dello Sport, that man will be his Udinese teammate Karnezis, who spent last season on loan at Watford.
