“In my view this game can show the right direction. I thought we did well against Genoa and only conceded on a corner, so we are on the right path.”

President Silvio Berlusconi said Milan should aim for third place this season, whereas Inzaghi argued it’s best to take things slowly.

“Let’s say both are right. When you go out there, it is to win. We have a good side and can achieve something great.”

This evening’s result put Milan in joint sixth place alongside Napoli, just two points shy of the trio in third: Genoa, Lazio and Sampdoria.
