Now transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that tomorrow will be a crucial day for the transfer, as Mendes will meet with Madrid.

The Spanish giants will tell the agent whether €100m, a gentleman’s agreement with Ronaldo, will be enough to accept a sale.

If Mendes gets the go-ahead Juve can close the deal, which could be completed this week.

Italian journalist Gabriele Marcotti, who was initially sceptical about the transfer, has also told ESPN today that the deal could be done within 48 hours.

Sky Sports UK is also reproting a deal is close, offering a similar timeframe of 48 hours for significant developments.
