Imbula was thought to be on the verge of completing a transfer to San Siro, but the Marseille man now looks set to move to Porto.

The Portuguese side are offering €23m, with €12m up front and €11m in instalments, a proposal which is far more attractive to L’OM than the Nerazzurri’s proposal of a €1m loan and and a €19m forced redemption clause.

Although the transfer is not yet complete, Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the Beneamata are focusing their attentions elsewhere, with the option of Felipe Melo still on the table.

The Galatasaray midfielder has made no secret of his desire to reunite with Coach Roberto Mancini, and is keen to return to Italy after spells with Fiorentina and Juventus.

Inter have already discussed a two-year, €3m contract with the Brazilian international, but would need to strike a deal with Galatasaray.

The Istanbul giants are thought to be demanding €3m for Melo, with the Nerazzurri hoping to secure the player on a free transfer.
