Inter target Felipe Melo says he wants to return to Brazil, but is still in talks with a European club.

The former Juventus midfielder has previously spoken of his intention to reunite with Nerazzurri Coach Roberto Mancini, with whom he worked at Galatasaray.

Now it appears the Brazilian has two options, as he confirms a return to Flamengo will not be possible.

“I want to clarify everything about my future, trying to be as transparent as possible,” Melo explained, speaking to Globoesporte.

“First of all, I absolutely don’t want to be seen as a mercenary in the eyes of the Flamengo fans. I still have a year’s contract with Galatasaray, where the fans treat me very well, but I really want to go back to Brazil after almost 10 years in Europe.

“There was interest from Flamengo, and my father met twice with the senior management. There was interest from me too, to return to the club where I started my career.

“Flamengo were offering me half the money I receive in Turkey, to return to Brazil. I understand and respect that Flamengo is working with it’s feat on the ground, within the means of the club, trying to change the way football clubs are run in Brazil.

“However, the difference makes an agreement impossible this time. I’ve had three offers in Europe, two of which are dead, and one that is still evolving, as is the offer from Cruzerio, my agent is working.

“Last time I talked to my agent, the parties were still negotiating. Regardless of whether or not I come back to Brazil, I want to thank Flamengo and Cruzerio, it’s an honour for me.”
