Gary Medel has expressed regret at seeing Walter Mazzarri depart from Inter, but he says immediate focus is now on impressing Roberto Mancini.

The midfielder, who signed for the Nerazzurri from Cardiff City in the summer, has commented on the club’s decision on Friday to change from Mazzarri to Mancini.

“I knew of his sacking before the game with Venezuela, it was unfortunate,” Medel has considered to Chilean media this week.

“He was a great Coach, who was working very well.

“I do not know Roberto Mancini, I just hope to be able to adapt quickly to his requests when I return from Chile, and be a regular starter.

“That is the most important thing.

“My adaptation to Italian football? I think it has been good, I have felt immediately at ease.

“Little by little I am adapting to the style of play that is practiced in Italy. And I am happy.”
