Reports continue to suggest that Parma’s financial situation is not improving and that a deadline to avoid a potential points penalty is today.

The Ducali are reported by the Gazzetta dello Sport and Gazzetta di Parma as staring down at today’s deadline by which time they must make payment on wages and taxes due from July, August and September.

It is speculated that the Ducali require as much as €15m, alongside holding a current debt of €50m, and that failure to meet this latest payment could result in sporting sanctions.

Reportedly, Parma risk as much as a five-to-six-point deduction should they fail to come up with the money on this upcoming deadline.

President Tommaso Ghirardi was recently strongly linked with selling a controlling stake in the club to Albanian oil magnate Rezart Taci, only for those negotiations to be denied by both parties.
