Juventus confirm their midfielder Weston McKennie will take at least two months to return to action following an ankle fracture.

The USMNT international was forced off the pitch in the second half of Juventus’ Champions League clash against Villarreal on Tuesday. He underwent medical examinations in Spain, and Juventus have now confirmed the player’s recovery time with an official statement.

“Weston McKennie also underwent further investigations at J|Medical which confirmed the presence of a compound fracture of the 2nd and 3rd metatarsal bones of his left foot. The initial recovery time is expected to be approximately eight weeks,” the club statement read.

Lady luck seems to have turned her back to the Bianconeri who have also lost Alex Sandro for at least ten days, while Kaio Jorge has suffered a potential season-ending injury picking up an ACL tear during today’s Serie C clash against Pro Patria.
