Juventus have even more injury concerns to deal with, as Weston McKennie was carried off during the Champions League draw against Villarreal with a suspected sprained ankle and possible fracture.

Danilo had provided the assist for the opening Dusan Vlahovic goal in the opening 32 seconds of this Round of 16 tie, before Dani Parejo equalised.

McKennie was brought down by a sliding tackle, but it was also the way he fell that seemed to cause the damage to his left ankle.

The midfielder immediately knew there was a problem, dragging himself off the pitch before the medical staff could reach him.

Max Allegri was forced to change his plans, as Denis Zakaria was about to replace Adrien Rabiot when McKennie picked up the injury.

The United States international was carried off by two medics and was not putting his left foot down.

“He is going for an X-Ray to his foot, we hope it is nothing serious,” Allegri told Mediaset.

It is a potential blow for Juventus, who were already missing Paulo Dybala, Federico Chiesa, Daniele Rugani, Giorgio Chiellini and Federico Bernardeschi for this 1-1 draw at La Ceramica.
