Walter Mazzarri has warned Napoli they “must become humble again, otherwise we’re heading for a sticky end.”

The Partenopei have drawn four of their last five Serie A games after tonight’s 1-1 in Novara.

“We played a good game and it wasn’t easy. Novara were very organised and closed down all the spaces,” said the Coach.

“It’s true that we lacked something in the final ball in the first half, while the synthetic pitch caused us problems, plus we weren’t sharp due to fatigue. I substituted Edy Cavani because he didn’t seem sharp tonight.

“The defensive wall split open during Ivan Radovanovic’s goal and I must remind them to stay still once Morgan De Sanctis gets them in place.”

Napoli qualified for the Champions League knockouts and Mazzarri feels they can finally focus on Serie A.

“Anything can happen from now to the end of the season. We don’t have Champions League commitments until February, so can finally work throughout the week to prepare for the next game against Roma.

“We must become humble again, otherwise we’re heading for a sticky end.”
