During the morning session, Mazzarri split the current squad at his disposal into two groups, working one through tactical exercises and the other through various strengthening exercises.
In the tactical sessions, the Coach has put the first group in a 4-4-1-1 shape, with new arrival Nemanja Vidic alongside prospective new captain Andrea Ranocchia in the heart of defence, flanked by Danilo D’Ambrosio and Juan Jesus.
Brazilian full-backs Jonathan and Dodo, the latter just signed from Roma, were further up in wide midfield.
The second group then worked in a 3-5-2 shape.
