The Granata were criticised for their 1-0 defeat to rivals Juventus, primarily for having a very negative attitude and creating precious few dangers after going a goal behind, but that is not how their Coach saw it.

“I am pleased that people underlined we put in a strong performance and created some important scoring opportunities,” said Mazzarri in today’s Press conference.

“There are regrets that we lost, but we have to build on the performance. In the closing minutes, I would’ve liked to put more pressure on Juventus, but we were excessive in our passing and didn’t push enough.

“I worked during the week to ensure the team was focused on Verona and not thinking about the past, because the derby is behind us now.

“We’ve got to take every game as if it was a Cup Final, without taking the table into consideration. We go to Verona eager to win and if we take the right approach with head, legs, passion and determination, we’ll put the bitterness of that defeat behind us.”

Cristian Molinaro is out after fracturing his fibula in training, while Kevin Bonifazi had to pull out of an Italy get-together due to an injury.

Simone Edera is also out, but Lyanco, Adem Ljajic and Antonio Barreca return.

Torino squad for Verona: Ichazo, Milinkovic-Savic, Sirigu; Ansaldi, Barreca, Burdisso, De Silvestri, Lyanco, Moretti, N'Koulou; Acquah, Baselli, Obi, Rincon, Valdifiori; Belotti, Berenguer, Iago Falqué, Ljajic, Niang
