“What I cannot abide is the arrogance on power that allows you to send off a Coach who was simply asking for an explanation,” Mazzarri told Sky Sport Italia.

Walter Mazzarri was sent off for dissent during Torino’s 1-1 draw with Fiorentina and raged at the “arrogance in power” of referees.

The tactician saw red during the first half of this evening’s Serie A match.

“What I cannot abide is the arrogance on power that allows you to send off a Coach who was simply asking for an explanation,” Mazzarri told Sky Sport Italia.

“Stefano Pioli, meanwhile, was allowed to do whatever he wanted. I am fed up. I don’t think I’m a rookie here, so I would like an explanation. As my team is playing well, I’d like to know how much these incidents affect our results.

“All the incidents go against us represent points dropped by Torino. I’d like to see the referees behave the same way with everyone, because I am tired of this situation.

“I thought Biraghi’s challenge on Belotti at the end was a penalty and should at least have been seen again on VAR. Biraghi goes straight for his body.

“Against Bologna it was the same thing, they didn’t look at the VAR. There’s no point getting this technology if we don’t use it.

“I see Coaches are treated differently. It’s better to send Mazzarri off, that way he won’t talk. But now I am talking. Why do they never check VAR with us? Why are we not treated the same way as everyone else?”
