Torino Coach Walter Mazzarri said Bologna veteran Rodrigo Palacio “looked like Diego Maradona” in a “cursed” 3-2 home defeat.

A win would’ve put the Granata level on points with fifth-placed Roma, who lost to SPAL earlier this evening, but they were stunned by relegation-threatened Bologna.

“It was an off night, as after an unbeaten run of eight games, we caused most of the problems ourselves,” Mazzarri told DAZN and Sky Sport Italia.

“It was cursed, evidently it was written we had to lose this match. Palacio looked like Maradona. Every time he’d open it up, we never once managed to intercept, we never got there before him, he is a player of the highest level.

“We made naïve mistakes and were unlucky too. The lads had a great season and sometimes nights like this can happen. I had hoped to at least get a point out of it, but every time we lost the ball, we conceded a goal.”
