He took the club to its first piece of silverware for 22 years by beating Juventus 2-0 in the Final on Sunday, meaning Napoli will face the Bianconeri again in the Italian Super Cup.
“Right now I’m not thinking about that. We’ll see what happens, but now I need to recharge the batteries and then we’ll think about the future,” Mazzarri told Radio Manà Manà.
“Anyone who knows me can attest I’ve always considered the precarious nature of my work, giving my all in the last 12 years. We’ll see what will happen in future, but I am not worried by this aspect. If anything, it motivates me.
“Winning against Juventus was something special for the city of Naples and to do it during their record year, when they had been unbeaten in all competition, was hugely satisfying.”
The Partenopei also reached the Champions League knockouts and forced eventual winners Chelsea into extra time after knocking Manchester City out in the group phase.
“Although the Champions League was not an objective, we were forced to give our best in that competition, trying to field the best side possible against teams like Bayern Munich and Manchester City so we’d avoid too humiliating a result.
“Clearly, this meant we lost ground in Serie A and could not secure third place. Don’t forget we reached the Coppa Italia Final after playing 51 matches.
“The squad at my disposal has grown exponentially in terms of quality over the last two years and will be useful in future. Marek Hamsik, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Edinson Cavani have become fundamental players for the team ethic too and made their names all over the world.”
