Inter Coach Walter Mazzarri revealed his talks with Jose Mourinho after public rows. “I am quite similar to Mou.”

The two clashed repeatedly when Mazzarri was in charge of Sampdoria” data-scaytid=”8″>Sampdoria and then Napoli, so taking over the Nerazzurri proved the right opportunity to patch up their differences.

“I spoke to Mourinho in America. It was the first dialogue between men who had in the past clashed,” Mazzarri told Sky Sport Italia.

“In terms of managerial style, I think I am quite similar to Mou. We had clashes because I was in charge of one team, he of another, and we grab hold of anything and everything to defend our sides.

“Every Coach is an artist, each has his own way of viewing football, but in terms of man-management I see myself – and I think he agrees – very close to Mourinho’s style.”

When Mazzarri took over at Inter in June, it was Massimo Moratti who hired him, but now Indonesian President Erick Thohir brings a very different approach.

“The rapport with Thohir is different, especially when you are used to getting phone calls from your President at 7am.

“However, when there is clarity, then there’s less need for continual contact. The President and I have the same intentions, plus there are directors who act as go-betweens and in that sense I believe Thohir is informed every day of what goes on at Inter.”

There is one thing coming to Inter and dealing with Moratti left and it was not positive.

“I had stopped smoking for eight months, but in pre-season training with Inter I started again. Moratti smokes a great deal and in one of our first meetings he gave me a helping hand to get back into it. Sooner or later I’ll try to cut down and then stop definitively.”
