Boss Walter Mazzarri has rejected speculation that his time on the Napoli bench is coming to an end.

“I have a contract at this club until 2013 and I will respect it,” Mazzarri noted ahead of Wednesday’s game against Atalanta” data-scaytid=”7″>Atalanta.

Napoli have had a campaign to remember after reaching the last 16 of the Champions League and qualifying for the Coppa Italia Final, but they are struggling to finish in the top three again.

The Azzurri have lost their last two games against Juventus” data-scaytid=”10″>Juventus and Lazio” data-scaytid=”11″>Lazio which now sees them six points adrift of the latter who occupy the last remaining European Cup spot.

“The squad is united,” Mazzarri continued. “Our performance against Lazio was excellent, we are just at a point of the season when everything is going against us.

“We knew that the campaign would be tough with our Champions League commitments, but you have to judge us over all three competitions.”

Fifth-placed Napoli had won five games on the trot, but they’ve picked up just two points from the last 12 on offer since.

“It won’t be easy against Atalanta,” he continued. “We have to react to what happened on Saturday and we’ll ask the fans for help.

“This has been a season of growth for us and even if we aim to win all games, we have never spoken of finishing third.”
