“Fiorentina have an option to keep him and I think they will take that opportunity,” Rosanero Vice-President Guglielmo Micciche told Radio Toscana.

“Cassano is a good player who could still offer a lot to the Viola. There are never any negative surprises when it comes to him.

“He was an untouchable in the Palermo team and we only sold him because he wanted a new experience.”

Cassani, 28, has had an injury affected campaign which has limited him to just 19 Serie A appearances so far.
