Argentine striker Maxi Lopez has admitted he would be interested in a move to Napoli, as he confirms the only certainty at the moment is his leaving Catania.

Lopez spent the final six months of last season on loan at Milan, for whom he netted twice in 11 appearances.

However, with Adriano Galliani’s words last month that he won’t be signed on a permanent deal, the 28-year-old is considering his options. Alongside a recent link to Lazio, the player has encouraged today’s rumours that Napoli are interested.

“Napoli, for the fans and the ambitions of the club, it is important that they point towards all targets each season. Napoli’s project interests me, but right now there is nothing concrete. What is certain is that if a concrete offer came, then certainly my agent will let me know and then, why not?

“My dream is to continue to play for a club that challenges for the Scudetto. From this point of view, to be inserted in an attack with Hamsik, Cavani and Pandev would be significant because Napoli are an important team.

“We’re talking about a team known around the world, so if they should call, I will assess the offer, because they are a team that I love.”

The forward, who is just back from his holidays, suggested that Milan’s decision to not sign him is not as clear cut as otherwise believed.

“The end of my relationship with Milan? My agent will talk with the Rossoneri and if they don’t want to sign me, I will try another situation. However, at this time I’m trying not to think too much about my future. My agent is already doing that.”
