Numerous clubs in Italy and beyond are keen, with the Rosanero the latest outfit to show an interest in the Argentine.

According to whispers on Monday, Palermo have begun to make tentative enquiries about the possibility of signing him this month.

However, it is understood that Catania’s valuation of €10m is too high for a club such as the Stadio Barbera outfit.

Fiorentina are also tracking the former Barcelona player seeing as they have agreed to sell Alberto Gilardino to Genoa.
