Jose Mauri admits Milan “have to change our mentality” after defeat to Verona.

The 19-year-old was given his first Serie A start for the Rossoneri, but Cristian Brocchi’s side went down 2-1 to the Butei, who are rooted to the bottom of Serie A.

“I tried to speed the game up and move it quickly like the boss asked,” Mauri explained to Milan Channel.

“It wasn’t easy though, because the pitch was very dry. They’re a team which makes long balls a key part of their game.

“It’s a great responsibility to wear the badge that’s on this shirt, and we have to change our mentality.

“The work we’ve done isn’t enough, we have to do everything. We know what we can do, but we can’t take that step.

“We’re all players with personality and we have to work on our mistakes. The fans are right to be disappointed, because losing to Verona isn’t great.”
