Stefano Mauri will reportedly sign a one-year deal with Lazio once President Claudio Lotito returns from his holiday this week.

The 35-year-old was released at the end of last season, but is close to a return after he was cleared of all wrongdoing in the calcioscommesse match-fixing scandal.

Corriere dello Sport believes that the former Aquile captain, who has been training with the club for several days now, could sign on Wednesday once Lotito is back in Rome.

The newspaper reports that the midfielder has accepted a significantly reduced salary for his one-year deal.
