Max Allegri confirms midfielder Blaise Matuidi will miss the first leg of Juventus’ Champions League clash with Tottenham.

The Frenchman had to be replaced in the 26th minute of the Old Lady’s 7-0 thrashing of Sassuolo this afternoon after picking up an injury, with Claudio Marchisio coming on in his place.

And his Coach has now admitted that the 30-year-old will not be available for the match at Juventus Stadium on February 13, as well as next Friday’s Serie A trip to Fiorentina.

“Matuidi won’t be there against Tottenham. I think it is a muscular problem,” Allegri told reporters.

There was better news elsewhere for the Juve boss, who added he expects Andrea Barzagli, Sami Khedira and Daniele Rugani to all be available moving forward.

“However, there are no problems for Barzagli, Khedira and Rugani. They have come out or haven’t played as a precaution.

“Douglas Costa will be back on Friday as well, so we have the necessary players to play.”
