Director Pavel Nedved praised Juventus, while Alessandro Matri revealed what it felt like to score without his boot.

Coach Antonio Conte was suspended and Angelo Alessio stayed behind in a long post-match locker room meeting, so director Nedved spoke to the media after the 2-0 win over Fiorentina.

“It was not an easy game, as Fiorentina play good football and I want to compliment Vincenzo Montella,” said the Czech star.

“Having said that, Juventus dominated and were superior for the entire match.”

Mirko Vucinic opened the scoring, then Matri side-footed home with his stockinged foot, as the boot flew off as he was pulling the trigger.

“My boot fell off just before the goal, as someone had trodden on the back of my foot,” said Matri.

“I scored in my socks. Oh well, it turned out for the best!”
