Marco Materazzi refused to celebrate with teammates and launched a broadside at Rafa Benitez. “Thanks to the club we're world champions.”

Inter may have won the Club World Cup with a 3-0 victory over Mazembe, but the tension is sky high.

The Nerazzurri returned to Milan this morning and Materazzi wasted no time commenting on Rafa's threats to walk away.

“Change Benitez? It's the club, which is the strongest in the world, that decides,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

The Nerazzurri returned to Milan this morning and Materazzi wasted no time commenting on Rafa's threats to walk away.

“Change Benitez? It's the club, which is the strongest in the world, that decides,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“It is thanks to the club that we are world champions. Inter come above all else. What Benitez does isn't really of any concern to us.”

Materazzi didn't get to play a single minute of the Final, despite the fact MacDonald Mariga came on as a stoppage-time substitute.

The defender took it very badly indeed and was nowhere to be seen during the celebrations. He didn't even go to pick up his winners' medal, as it had to be brought to the locker room by teammates.

Jose Mourinho famously gave Materazzi a run-out during the final moments of the Champions League Final win over Bayern Munich.
