Marco Materazzi claims Inter legend Giacinto Facchetti stopped him from joining arch-rivals Milan before the 2006 World Cup.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday evening, Materazzi also revealed why Inter never took a team photograph alongside the five trophies they won under Jose Mourinho.
“Milan? I stayed thanks to Facchetti, he looked after me and didn’t allow me to go to the other side,” explained the former Italy defender.

“Milan? I stayed thanks to Facchetti, he looked after me and didn’t allow me to go to the other side,” explained the former Italy defender.
“Mourinho and Leonardo? After the semi-finals against Barcelona, Mourinho told me that I’d play in the Champions League Final.
“I don’t even have a photo with the five cups we won in those years: we had to have it, but Leonardo didn’t let us.
“I was all prepared [for the picture] with my real cup, the one I have tattooed [the World Cup], but that day Leo said, ‘it’s not happening anymore.’
“That’s why we don’t have a historic photo with the five cups.”
