Giovanni Martusciello admits Empoli were outclassed by Fiorentina in their 4-0 home defeat to the Viola.
The Azzurri were hoping to build on their own 4-0 victory over Pescara in the last round of Serie A matches, but succumbed to a heavy loss against their Tuscan rivals.
“Fiorentina have a group of players who are too superior to us,” Martusciello said after Sunday afternoon’s game.
“We will go again and we will take the first half out of it [as a positive].”

The Coach also believes certain episodes in the match made the difference in determining its outcome.
“Episodes made the difference. Last year we suffered but then went ahead. This year however we didn’t score through Maccarone, the foul by Tomovic he was the last man.
“Everything became more complicated, especially after the second goal.”
