Empoli Coach Giovanni Martusciello believes Fiorentina have improved despite their sluggish start to the season.

The two teams face each other in a Tuscan Derby on Sunday afternoon, with the Azzurri Coach stressing the need to his side to ‘know how to suffer’ against a Viola team who ‘should be finishing in the top five.’

“We are conscious that we are facing a very strong team,” Martusciello said at a Press conference. “For us it is a Derby and I think that in light of the two matches it will be for them too.

“Fiorentina will not come with the same attitude as last year. We need to put all our ideas out on the pitch, like aggression and a sense of belonging.

“We need to know how to suffer too, as happened against Napoli and Roma.

“The Viola have an important attacking potential, equal to Roma.

“In my opinion Fiorentina’s style of play has improved since last year. They have obviously taken less points than their potential.

“We need to be careful, Fiorentina are built to finish in the top five, without doubt.”
