Giovanni Martusciello calls his first Serie A win with Empoli “something beautiful” after beating Crotone.

Giovanni Martusciello calls his first Serie A win with Empoli “something beautiful” after beating Crotone.

The Coach took over after Marco Giampaolo’s departure this summer, but had lost his first two League games of the season.

“When you win it’s something beautiful, because you live your week as a function of that,” Martusciello explained to Sky.

“We are very happy with the result and our performance, we were more present. Against Sampdoria we didn’t play as well as we can, and I was also at fault for not being able to fire-up the team.

“No-one is born knowing everything though.”

Both of Empoli’s goals were scored by defenders, do they need to do something different in attack?

“Strikers live for goals, and when you can’t break that duck it changes everything. We have to keep cool heads and not get exasperated trying to force a goal: it’s harder like that.

“It’s clear that we expect goals from them, but they’ll come if they continue to do what they’re doing.”
