Olympique Marseille might finally be closing in on a deal for Pol Lirola after reports in France that Fiorentina accepted €12m, but there are still issues to resolve.
Lirola spent last season on loan at Marseille and wanted to make the move permanent, but Marseille tried to negotiate a discount on the €12m option to buy.
When that failed, they had to start from scratch and discussions have dragged on all summer, much to the frustration of the Spanish wing-back and French club.
Now La Provence newspaper reports that the sides are finally close to an agreement for the same €12m fee, but are still trying to work out a payment schedule that suits all parties.
Marseille want to spread the cost of the operation out as much as possible, whereas Fiorentina are seeking a bulk payment.
Lirola just turned 24 this week and Fiorentina signed him from Sassuolo for €13m.
