Juventus director Beppe Marotta is impressed by Atalanta’s Franck Kessie, but chose to “laugh” at Paul Pogba’s Manchester United comments.

He spoke ahead of tonight’s showdown with on-form Atalanta at the Juventus Stadium.

“Every game represents a test for us, regardless of the side we are going to be facing,” Marotta told Mediaset Premium.

“Atalanta are highly-motivated, a team with great quality that has taken them into an unexpected position. It is certainly an important night for us.”

Juve have been heavily linked with Atalanta midfielder Kessie, nicknamed the ‘New Yaya Toure.’

“Kessie is one of the most interesting young players in Serie A, so it’s natural there are many clubs watching him. The Bergamo youth academy has been churning out talents at a high level for many years.”

This weekend Pogba made surprising comments, noting that his four years at Juventus were like “being on holiday” before returned home to Manchester United.

“We want to be good-hearted in interpreting what one says,” smiled Marotta. “I hope his vacation with us was an instructive one. If he managed to wear the Manchester United shirt, it’s because Juventus got the best out of him.

“Really, it’s best just to laugh…”

Another former Juventus alumni is doing considerably better in the Premier League, as his Chelsea beat Manchester City 3-1 today to remain as leaders.

“Chelsea are an excellent team and deserve to be top of the Premier League. The squad interprets the characteristics of its Coach.”
